Fremantle, WA

After Margaret River we headed to Fremantle. ‘Freo’ is a vibrant port town on the Swan River. It’s small enough to walk around and has a really nice atmosphere with bars, cafes, breweries, arts and a lot of culture. It reminds us a bit of Brighton.

We were staying in South Fremantle where you could walk to the beach in the mornings.

Morning coffees!

We did a couple of runs by the water which were really nice and even did the South Fremantle Parkrun! In the UK Parkruns start at 9am but because of the weather they start at 7am in Australia! This was a fun run to do and had amazing scenery! Slightly different from our usual Bedfont Lakes Parkrun, with the last kilometre being along the beach… safe to say we were a bit slower than a lot of the locals!

Fremantle centre often has a lot going on and is also known for its vibrant markets!

In Western Australia you also get really nice sunsets with the sun setting over the water.

Fremantle and its laidback lifestyle and big community feel has definitely won us over and we were sad to say goodbye to WA… more exploring to do along this coastline next time!

Next stop… over to the east coast to see friends in Brisbane! 👋
